About Us

Eleven years ago, I started a company called First Choice Signs under the parent company, Buy & Sell Classifieds.  It was started on a whim and within a few years, had grown into a full fledged signage business.  In September of 2001, First Choice Signs was bought out by Gannett Pacific Corporation, better known in the islands as the Honolulu Advertiser's parent company.  After a year under the new management, I decided to leave First Choice Signs to start another company of my own.

It was on December 1st, 2002 that Identity Signs & Graphics opened their doors to a new venture.  A month later, First Choice Signs closed its doors and Identity Signs was blessed with the return of many past First Choice customers.  A return customer is the greatest compliment that can be bestowed upon a company like ours.  It is because of our return clientelle that we exist today.

Corporate Identity

Corporate Identity is an under utilized concept here in Hawaii.  Due to strict signage laws restricting billboards violating the beauty of 'paradise', we have fewer options to advertise our company names and logos.  So, when given the opportunity, use your logo.

Keeping your logo consistent is of utmost importance.  Seeing the McDonald's arch in purple would certainly turn heads.  Color of the logo, typestyle change, or even a slight distortion could lose your company's identity.  The general public will remember your company or organization by the repetition of the logo, the company motto, color, or other visual references.

Mobile advertising, be it on personal vehicles with magnetic signs to large box trucks with permanent logos plastered on all sides, is simplest, largest, and most effective on the road.  Seeing the same logo on your business card, your banner, your vehicle, or your building sign will allow people to tie everything together subliminally.
